In norway at the winter, it is totally common to arrive at school in the morning while it`s still dark. The sun does not set before 11am usually, and goes back down before the students get home. In some of the northern parts of Norway the sun does not rise at all, even though it is daytime. This is called "mørketid" or " the dark time"
